Why are You Obsessed with Making Money Online?

You must be a regular reader if you are now reading this or must have found this blog on a search engine while searching for the terms, "Make Money Online".

Close your other browser tabs and focus on what I am about to ask:

"Why are you so obsessed with finding a way to make money online?"

Countless people, including me have embarked on this quest for financial freedom.

But we have all been tricked by the lure of money. Yes, that includes you.

You might argue that you need that money, you could do many great things with that money, you need that money to pay for your credit card bill or refinance your home. You've lost your job and have a 2 year old daughter. You're now working 3 day jobs and still come up short to pay the mortgage. You need that money to pay off your College loan. You need that money to pay for your sickness or your loved one's hospital bills.

I'm sure that there are countless other reasons on why you want to earn money online.

If you are one of those who is experiencing that, then repeat this after me:

Money is not an object. Money should not be my goal. Money should not be the focus of my life.

Sure, it is a piece of paper, a metallic coin, or a number flashed on a screen. But consider this, all paper are paper, all metallic coins are metallic coins. But in the end they are all unequal.

  • 1 USD is equal to 0.74 Euro
  • 1 USD is equal to 44 Philippine Pesos
  • 1 USD is equal to 25 million Zimbabwe Dollars

In Zimbabwe, to purchase a kilo of rice, you literally have to haul a sack of Zimbabwean Dollars to pay for it. Can you imagine what it would take to purchase an iPad, a car, or a house in Zimbabwe?

Money is not an object.

Paper is an object. Metal coins are objects. But money, is valuation.
As a group of people, we assign value to everything and agree (or disagree) that the value is good or bad. Whether it is service or a product, people assign value and use money as a unit of measurement

We use this unit of measurement to assign value to a product or a service.

You may have been promised a few Dollars if you click on advertisements everyday.
You may have been promised hundreds of Dollars if you just sign up for that online program.
You may have been promised thousands of Dollars if you complete a survey.

But ask this to yourself:

Am I creating something valuable with what I am doing?

Who did you benefit by clicking on those web banners? What value did you give when you completed that survey? How much value have you dispersed by creating a link in a forum?

A few cents? A few dollars? Many Dollars?

Unknowingly, we have all just perpetrated a system wherein only a small group of people are making money. And we are doing this at our own expense. You might say that you didn't spend anything - oh, yes you did. You spent your time working for their goals. You spent your time increasing their coffers.
Think of it this way, if everybody was earning thousands of Dollars online as they claimed they have easily by just doing the above mentioned, then there would be no economic recession in the United States, there would be no unemployment, there would be no suffering, hunger, and everything will be just fine if everybody just clicked on banner ads, complete surveys and created backlinks everywhere.

There will be a utopian society which does nothing but spend the whole day online.

Think about it. I will leave this hanging as you ponder my points. Don't be disheartened if I leave you hanging. You might be expecting me to tell you what to do next because I know you still HAVE to make money online.
Ponder, reflect and let the words that I have spoken seep deep in your consciousness. Just relax and chill out. Everything will be just fine.

I will get back to you soon.
