Creative Ways to Sell Products Online

One of the easiest ways to make money on the internet is to sell products – either for a company or from your home. If you thinking about doing this, you may be drawn to the idea of selling on eBay, Amazon, or someplace else along those lines. You are more than welcome to do that, but you should note that there are plenty of other ways to make money selling products on the internet. You just have to think outside the box. Here are a few suggestions you can keep in mind.

Product Reviews
Rather than actually putting out sales copy for a product, you could put out a video reviewing its features, benefits, etc. This will give people information about the product because they can actually see it in action. You could throw an affiliate link in the video description for people to click on, and then you will make money when people click on it. If you don't want to make a video, you could post a written review to Ukritic and still make money through affiliate linking. You will just have to make your words speak for themselves.

It doesn't cost anything to post a product for sale on Craigslist, and this could bring a whole new set of customers for you to work with. You would be dealing on a local basis at this point, but you could sell all kinds of merchandise while still using the internet. This won't work for places that don't have large coverage in Craigslist, but it will work for most parts of the country. You just have to hope that people are willing to pay for whatever it is you have.

Consignment
Most people think of consignment shops as in-person establishments, but you can find them online as well. In this case, you basically pay someone else to sell your stuff for you. That person takes a percentage of the profits and you get to keep the rest. It may work in your favor, but only if you have god products with high profit margins.

It is a lot easier to sell products online than most people realize. You just have to figure out a way to do so creatively, in reference to your own abilities and time constraints. Test out the ideas above and see if any of them work for you. If so, you can thank me later for the awesome suggestions I just provided for you ;)

  1. Thanks for choosing my blog to guest post on Jenna Elder :) As an added value to this post, I decided to add a few of my own tips since I've recently managed to sell things online using this blog.

I'm going to be imparting my secret secret stuff sooooo, this is really a bonus.

Create educational how to videos that have immediately useful value

People need things because they need to get something done or they want to satisfy their cravings. For instance, let's try to imagine your favorite barbecued food. Let's call it the Bacon Blaster. For that, we need, ground beef, a barbecue grill, some oil, that awesome barbecue sauce, charcoal and of course a new fangled recipe.

This is different from the product review that you mentioned because you're actually making an educational video that would be useful to the viewer. For instance, let's call this video the "How to barbecue a Bacon Blaster" video.

Notice that, if your recipe is good enough and delectably mouth watering, people would be literally drooling on their monitors. That's your unique value proposition.

More importantly, they would want the following things which you can then sell as an affiliate marketer or an online consignee as you've mentioned:

    They'll most likely buy:

    1. The grill you've used.
Maybe not the same exact model, but if you put an Amazon associates link there, any other item that they've bought as long as they went to Amazon.com using your link would still qualify as your sale and then you'll receive a commission.

    2. The recipe.
When you upload your video on Youtube, be sure to link back to your blog with a step by step guide on how to make the Bacon Blaster. Now this is very important:

On your blog, you can put affiliate links or even put Adsense ads. Either way you'll earn from these two. Remember, the people who visit your blog post are most likely looking to have the same experience, so they'll try as much as they can to use exactly the same things. If not, you could also give them more affordable alternatives.

    3. Brand mentions. Mentioning a specific brand and why you use it, is extremely powerful. This could also be measured through your expertise or influence on the matter. Don't just mention any brand at all fleetingly. Emphasize the value of why you are recommending that particular brand.

For example. I like Tabasco hot sauce. So in the video, I'll also show clips of me eating the Bacon Blaster and then splattering it with that awesome Tabasco hot sauce. Not only have you helped a particular brand with your mention, you're also making sure that the experience that your viewers or readers will experience will be the same.
